I completed this work on bokeh photography as part of my first unit of photography and it was one of my favourite parts of the unit as I think it produced some really interesting images.

Bokeh photography works by using a small disk of card fitted over the lens of your camera with a small shape cut out of it. When in a darkened room with a single or a few light sources (I used fairy lights) the lights will take the shape which you have cut out of the card. I experimented with using a star and a heart but found the star worked better for me. With your light source switched on and your bokeh lens fitted it is just a case of adjusting the focus until you produce images which clearly show that the light source has taken on the shape you have cut out of your card.
